European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, who is in charge of euro matters, denied a Greek government statement that a deal is close with international creditors. “We are still not there,” Dombrovskis told reporters in Brussels. “We are working towards an agreement as quickly as possible.” A Greek official said the country will start drafting an accord at a meeting on Wednesday, and that a deal including changes to the pension system and a long-term solution on debt is close. The official, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private, acknowledged that there are still disagreements with creditors. Greek two-year notes rose, pushing the yield 90 basis points lower to 24 percent at 5:19 p.m. in Athens. The euro gained 0.65 percent against the dollar on the news to trade at $1.0911. Greek shares also rose, with the benchmark Athens Stock Exchange gaining 3.6 percent at the close of trading.

non che la vogliano lasciar defaultare... piuttosto, nella miopia politica , che non considera bene la potenza dei mercati, forzano la mano , la corda si rompe, e parte una piccola valanga.. la piccola valanga cresce velocemente e diventa un casino da gestire.
non escludo neanche che i greci stiano tirando cosi alla lunga perchè hanno aperto altri tavoli di trattativa e perchè se avessero la possibilità di cancellare il debito ma garantirsi un paracadute per la loro economia seguirebbero questa strada.
