Sources told Reuters that German public sector lender HSH Nordbank [HSH.UL] - which was not named in the Efe report - was set to pass the health checks. HSH was seen as the German lender most likely to fall short of requirements. [ID:FWN0SH01C]

Other than Erste, the banks listed by Efe were Italy's Banco Popolare (BAPO.MI), Monte dei Paschi (BMPS.MI) and Banca Popolare di Milano (PMII.MI); Greece's Alpha Bank (ACBr.AT), Piraeus Bank (BOPr.AT) and Eurobank (EURBr.AT); Portugal's Millennium BCP (BCP.LS) and Belgium's Dexia (DEXI.BR).

The agency also said a second, unnamed Austrian bank and a Cypriot bank were set to fail.

MILANO (MF-DJ)--Il Ftse Mib guadagna lo 0,16% a 19.086 punti. Bank of America - Merrill Lynch spiega che le minute della BoE hanno evidenziato un atteggiamento molto accomodante sulla base del quale il mercato ha spostato in avanti le aspettative sul rialzo dei tassi. "Abbiamo recentemente cambiato le nostre attese sul rialzo dei tassi, portandole da febbraio ad agosto 2015. Dopo queste minute la visione del mercato e'' in linea con la nostra". Dalle minute e'' emerso inoltre che il pessimismo sull''outlook economico globale si e'' incrementato nel corso dei mesi, spiegano gli analisti, aggiungendo che questo riflette le tensioni geopolitiche e i piu'' deboli dati macroeconomici dell''Eurozona.
